The Parish of Brailes and Winderton is a thriving community in South Warwickshire, on the Oxfordshire border. The Parish includes Brailes Village and Winderton Hamlet as well as numerous outlying farmsteads.
It is recognised as Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within the Cotswold’s. Three Hills help define the landscape, Castle Hill. Brailes Hill and Mine Hill. An annual walk up and down all three (weather permitting) takes place – The Three Hills Walk. The towers of St Georges Church, Brailes and St Peter’s and St Paul’s in Winderton are clearly visible for miles. Lots of fascinating social history surrounds both buildings.
At the Parish’s heart are a nursery, primary and junior schools. The local Pub ‘The George’ is hub for a host of activity including live music, comedy, and quizzes. There are excellent local facilities including a garage, newsagents, butchers, bakers, and hairdressers. On top of this there are many local businesses on the light industrial estate and throughout the Village.
The Village Hall playing fields and playground allow for a host of activities take place in the Village. Activities in the Village include a Film club, Gardening club, Mechanic and Craft Society, a thriving Drama group and Brownies. You can also find Yoga classes, Archery, Thai Chai and much more.
